Vendor Profile: Junipermoon Makery

Hello! I'm Allison from the Junipermoon Makery. I spend a lot of time working with colour and fluff to create one of a kind playthings.

I started making puppets a few years ago when the kids were small. I set up my little grandma machine in the basement and instantly loved how I could get stitching when I had bits of time to spare - and just as easily put it down if things were to awry upstairs.

I love the quirkiness of handmade toys and find a lot inspiration from my three wacky children who make up the most hilarious games. Simple toys, always fun.

Vendor Profile: Boolah Baguette

Hi! My name is Erin, and I live and work here in Saskatoon creating plush dolls, animals, and other sewn goodies. My work is the product of my overactive imagination and my hands that are always itching to make something. I love creating with soft, colorful fabrics, making them into creatures that are loved by both children and adults. Each piece is one of a kind, made from my own patterns and textile experimentation. I am passionate about the creative process and being able to do what I love as a job - taking all my ideas and making them into something you can play with!

Winter Wonders Artisan Profile: Juniper Moon

"I spend my days running amok with my three young children. Every now and again I am lucky enough to stand just out of sight and listen to the wild stories they create amongst themselves and their toys. My goal is to create playthings for children that will inspire creative play (and don't hurt if they are accidentally stepped on).

At the end of the day, when it is quiet, I like to make stuff. Sometimes it's pants with big pockets for shoving treasures in, sometimes tiny houses or puppets. Whatever it is, it's made for fun!" - Allison Ewert

Winter Wonder Artisan Profile: Wee Bobbin

Wee Bobbin is two sisters, Laura and Katie, from Saskatoon. Our interest in sewing really took off when Laura's first baby was born almost five years ago. Since then three more babies have arrived, and we've made more blankets and bibs than we can count! We now sew a variety of cute items for little people, and we hope you'll enjoy them as much as we do.

Spring Market Vendor Profile: Just Sewing

Natasha Just of "just sewing" began playing with fabric on her grandmother's vintage sewing machine when she was a little girl and still uses this machine today.  For ten years she has been passionate about quilting, combining inspiring fabrics in both traditional and modern patterns.  After becoming a mother, she started sewing unique baby blankets and is now also creating smaller items with remnant fabric.  As a minimalist, finding creative ways to minimize unused material is one of the most challenging joys of her business.
