I am a 26 years old french canadian living in Saskatoon.
Hand forged knives and iron jewelry is what I do best!
My materials come from recycled metal. To make my blades, I repurpose high carbon steel. Often from car springs, old saw blades and tools. I use a propane forge that I've built to heat the pieces in order to shape and move the metal where I want it to go.

Maria Arseniuk is a fibre artist based in Calgary, AB. She began embroidery as a child, but branched out into embroidery full time in 2015 after finishing her second masters and finding herself jobless.
Subject matter is centred around themes of feminism, pop culture and wildlife - she especially likes to juxtapose the obscene (f-bombs, for example) with the delicate (delicate floral detailing).
When not embroidering you can find her traveling, photographing or writing social and political commentary for various online and in-print publications.

Caitlin Bodewitz of CMB Print Works is a mixed-media printmaker, incorporating photo-transfers, drawings, and silkscreen onto birch wood. Her artwork incorporates images of nature juxtaposed with geometric designs, seeking a sense of balance between the two opposing realms. All images are locally taken by Bodewtiz, all process are done by hand in studio, and materials are as environmentally mindful as possible including canadian-sourced wood, water based inks, and biodegradable packaging and tape!

Within the whirlwind of a busy life with two young children, my functional ceramics portray contemporary narrative imagery of whimsy and fun suitable for all ages. From books, illustrative art and graphic design, to my children’s drawings and imaginations, or simply my lazy cats around the house, I find inspiration all around me. The reward of this work for me is that young and old find happiness though the work and its engagement with nostalgia and familiar imagery.

I've been making things for as long as I can remember, but only recently took the plunge and started full-time on my passion. I started this dream in Saskatoon in 2013 but have since made the move back to my hometown, Victoria, BC.
My jewelry is focused on two mediums, gemstones and wood.
I sustainably harvest local wood from standing deadfall, mostly birch, cedar and arbutus, each having its own unique characteristics. I've learned about spalting and how it creates patterns and designs as the wood starts its decomposing process. Each piece is selected for its beautiful grain and is as individual as you and I.
The stones, in addition to their beauty, are said that they each have their own metaphysical properties, used for spiritual, emotional and physical healing. I'm still learning, but this fascinates me, the idea of positive energy being a healing power in itself.
The other aspect of working with materials that come from the earth that has become increasingly important to me is the environment. I’m committed to being as sustainable and eco-friendly as possible and am constantly looking for options in suppliers who share this vision. I commit to harvesting my wood sustainably, using eco-friendly, non-hazardous finishes and findings and to use recycled products wherever possible.
