Who doesn't love watching things being made (especially if they are made by hand)
This is a gorgeous video of the making of Kokeshi Dolls from one of my favorite websites The kid should see this.
Enjoy!

A few more pics and a massive THANK YOU!!!
What a weekend! In a a whirlwind of handmade excellence the flock & gather Winter Wonders Handmade Market has come and gone. Hours of volunteer work well spent, satisfied customers, happy vendors, and an ecstatic yet exhausted flock & gather crew. Many many thanks to everyone who participated and made this event incredible. And a special thanks to all of the lovely husbands of the f & g crew, who not only put up with months of neglect due to all the volunteer hours we all put in to pull this together, but also because of their hard work at the show and behind the scenes.
Here's a few more pics from the market on saturday, including a few booths that got accidentally overlooked in Friday's epic post.

Winter Wonders Artisan Profile - Shauna Buck
And we are nuts about Shauna! Last in our sneak peak profiles, but surely not least is the indispensable and charming Shauna Buck (also the incredible illustrator behind our poster). Another hard working artist both in the studio and behind the scenes of flock & gather. (We even enlist her lovely husband for help and thank him kindly for always answering the call!)
From greeting cards to original art, buttons, magnets and beautiful jewelery, Shauna will surely have a holiday gift for everyone on your list.
See more of Shauna's work here.

Winter Wonders Artisan Profile - Walden Sweet
On the move! Over the past few months Walden Sweet has been busy looking for a new studio to print out of and contributing to the ever inspiring group Flock and Gather Craft Collective.
Dana Mastel and Wayne Jorgenson of Walden Sweet are some of the hard working folks behind flock and gather and we certainly hope they find a studio space soon so that we can continue to see their amazing artwork at f & g events. In the meantime here is a sneak peak of new works in progress.
Make sure to stop by and say hi to these amazing guys at the market this weekend!

Winter Wonders Artisan Profile - The untrained eye aka Carole Epp
Hello folks, it's me Carole posting today awkwardly about myself! I'm a stay at home mom of one, very very soon to be two and a full time (as full time as you can with kids) artist.
A few years back when I was pregnant with my first, my husband bought me a sewing machine and I almost instantly got addicted. I had been making ceramics for years, having studied clay in school, but the joy of working with so many fabrics with vibrant colors was so inspiring. I try to work with unique blends of fabrics that are more timeless than typical baby quilts. I aim to make pieces that are one of a kind, contemporary and fun.
Of course I still work in clay, but even that production has changed a bit as a result of my son. I found that cute imagery and storybook inspired themes started infiltrate my pots and a line of kid friendly tableware was born. So if you're looking for unique gifts for kids or adults that are young at heart please stop by and say hi on Friday or Saturday at the sale.
Beyond the quilts and pottery, I'll have a bit of handmade jewelery, silkscreen onesies, and some fun kid sized pillows (again not necessarily just for kids!)
You can also find me online at the untrained eye on etsy.
