Vendor Profile: The Rosy Deer

Hi there! my name is Amy Roper and I am a fibre artist living in Lloydminster AB. When I am not busy chasing my two littles around, I can be found crafting. I make quality fibre goods featuring handwoven textiles, handspun yarns and repurposed materials. Currently, my passion is in weaving and I spend hours at my 4-shaft artisat loom playing with hundreds of threads. A single warp on the loom contains 840 threads that must each be tied on individually before I begin to throw a shuttle! Then after the fabric is made, I lovingly sew cowls and purses out of it. Follow me on FB at The Rosy Deer and on Instagram @rosydeertextiles. My finished projects are available on etsy : http://www.etsy.com/ca/shop/therosydeer I am always crafting so check in often. Cheers

At Majesty Industries we make quite possibly the cutest travel accessories ever. Passport wallets and luggage tags silkscreened and sewn from scratch in our little studio in Edmonton. We use only cruelty-free materials to make our line that includes adorable makeup bags featuring our hand drawn patterns and designs. This year the sloth became more popular than our Sasquatch... Who knew?

Vendor Profile: Like a Fox

I've been a crafter since I was a little girl, when I set up, not a lemonade stand, but a booth selling yarn dolls in the front yard. My love of pattern and colour, keeps me on the lookout for fabric in likely and unlikely places. I love the idea of repurposing something with a fantastic print and my small projects allow me to use an eclectic mix of new and old for fun one-of-a-kind creations.

Spring Market Vendor Profile: Happy Monarch

I have been making ladies hats for almost four years now. Through the years I have changed styles, materials, shapes and sizes, but the one thing that has never changed is the joy I find in creating something truly unique. I love seeing the smiles on faces as women try them on and successfully find that fits not only their head, but their personality. I have been truly blessed to be able to follow passion for creativity, and hope to inspire other women of all ages to do the same.

Spring Market Vendor Profile: Sidewise Designs

My name is Dj Siminoff and I never leave the house without a hat. Saskatchewan weather is very unpredictable, so you never know when you might need protection from the elements, right? As a designer, all of my bags are created with the same sense of practicality... and a steadfast refusal to sew curved lines! I've been sewing since I was too little to use the grown-up scissors, and designing and selling my own bags for over 4 years.

Months of planning, preparation and prototypes has lead to the launch of Sidewise Designs, a new line of bags that is the perfect balance between my perfectionist tendencies and my uncontrollable creativity.

Spring Market Vendor Profile: K V D Creations and Carey

*** we say new artist since Carey is new to flock and gather handmade markets,
but you will likely remember Kristin from our Winter Wonders market last December.

Hello!! We are Carey and Kristin, sister in laws that share a love for crafting and suporting local and handmade products. Kristin is a crocheter and knitter that has been designing her own work for 4 years now.  Kristin gets inspiration off her friends who will ask her to create an item for them that is unique.  She loves seeing people around Saskatoon wearing her designs. Carey has been sewing for 6 years and has experience selling her items in local galleries.  She is inspired by old items that can be taken apart and sewn into something new and unique.  You can find Carey at any local craft show and art show supporting her fellow  artists friends.  Together we will have a unique blend of items that are made as a hobby, purely to allow us to be part of such an awesome movement of offering local, handmade products in our great city of Saskatoon,  and being surrounded by amazing, talented artist and the even cooler people who are buying it.    Love K&C

Spring Market Vendor Profile: Like a Fox Creations

I love fabrics and combining new and old in interesting ways. I started sewing handbags and wallets for friends and family to fund raise for a children's home I was involved with in South Africa in 2005 and have continued since then experimenting with different ideas and patterns, always donating the proceeds of my hobby to one charity or another. Some of my fabrics are brought back with me from my travels to various countries, some are repurposed vintage clothing or linens. Turning something discarded into something new, beautiful, and functional strikes me as a great representation of the way God works in the lives of the people these crafts.
