Craft night pictures!

Our most recent Flock and Gather craft night was such a great time - lots of new faces and old friends came to make gift cards, garlands, and washi tape. All the glitter, stamps, fancy tapes, and lovely papers made it easy to be inspired. Thanks to everyone who came out for the pre-Christmas fun, and thanks to the Mendel for allowing us to use your space once again!

flock & gather craft night november 8th

So in the spirit of the season we thought it fitting to have a craft night with the theme of holiday prep. Bring your creative mind, a friend or two, and most importantly yourself to our next craft night on November 8th at 6pm at the Mendel in their studio space just off the main gallery on the main floor.

No experience necessary, just a desire to have fun.
Materials will be provided, but please feel free to also raid your own craft closet for things such as stamps, colored paper, paints, glitter, markers, etc to bring with you.

What will we be making?
How about some beautiful paper garlands for your tree or house?

Our next craft night - March 20th

If you've never attended a flock and gather craft night before then you're in for a great night! Everyone is welcome. Feel free to bring a project of your own to work on if you're not interested in the craft we put together. It's more important that you show up and hang out than what you make in the end.

We figure with the weather warming up and spring cleaning around the corner some fun organizing ideas are in order! These would be great around the studio for sorting, or fill them with candies as a fun gift.

What you'll need to bring with you:
* Empty jars with lids. These can be empty food containers of any size or shape so long as you have the matching lid.
* Some animals or other trinkets (use your imagination) to add to the top.

What we'll be supplying:
The glue and paints you need, some coffee and snacks and our charming personalities : )

It's time we had a little talk...

Join us for an evening of crafty discussion.

Where: The Roastery on 8^th Street (back room)

When: Monday March 5^th at 7pm

Who: flock & gather members, our invited guest extraordinaire – Amy Smith of Three Leaf designs, and you!

Why: Well really… why not? Do we need an excuse to get together?

But seriously, this will be in the first in a series of discussion nights where we get together to talk craft, the business side of things, and wherever the night takes us. Amy Smith will be leading us in a casual discussion walking us through some of the journey she’s taken so far in setting up her independent craft business.

This is an evening for both emerging and experienced crafters, everyone will have something to contribute to the conversation and something to take away.

Photo Transfer Craft Night

Wow what a night we had last night! Huge thanks to the Mendel for lending us the space to host our craft night and to everyone that made it out. We had a great time and were super thrilled to meet new friends and have a chance to chat with familiar ones.

Mark your calendars for March 20th for our next craft night - an event page will be posted very soon on Facebook. RSVP quickly as space fills up fast.

Get your craft on with PHOTO TRANSFERS!!!!

Next week's craft night is sure to be a crowd pleaser with this fun project we spotted on A Beautiful Mess Blog. So have a quick read over it and get some ideas in mind and join us on the evening of February 21st at 6:30 in the studio at the Mendel.

What you'll need to bring yourself:
Stretched canvas or wood to transfer onto. (try the dollar store or Micheals for the canvas)
The image you want to transfer (laser copy). Remember, your image will print reversed.
Oh and we could probably use an extra hair dryer or two so if you happen to have one kicking around....

Craft night and materials swap

flock and gather are please to announce our next craft night - this time with a craft swap as well. Got some extra materials kicking around the studio that you would like to pass on to a good home? If you've got them, then bring them along. Any craft materials that might have a new life under someone else creative guidance. Scraps of fabric, yarn, sparkle glue, an old bedazzler, you name it!

As for the evenings' craft it'll be an open craft night so bring along whatever project you happen to be working on. Got nothing on the go? Great time to start something, maybe you'll be inspired by the materials in the swap. Don't worry we'll have some ideas kicking around the studio.

Bring a friend, come for the conversation, stay for the crafty goodness.

Craft Night Announced!

Bring your scrap fabrics and hoops for some hoop weaving! We've got a few supplies but if you can help out by bringing supplies that would be great.

We're looking for:
Old t-shirts, bed sheets, yarn, hula hoops, embroidery hoops.
