Springtime Handmade Market Vendor Profile: Who New Creations

Sewing has been an outlet for my creativity since 2004. I recycle and transform all types of fabrics into one-of-a-kind pieces of art. By appliqueing beautiful textures, patterns and colors together, I create eye candy for the kid in all of us. My most common work includes portable, doorway puppet theatres and bright, textured wall hangings. My work as Who New Creations has been seen in festivals and stores in and around Saskatchewan and Alberta and I am a Juried member of the Saskatchewan Craft Council. Inspiration is constant as I work and live in a natural environment, surrounded by my loving husband and two young boys.

Winter Wonders Artisan Profile: Juniper Moon

"I spend my days running amok with my three young children. Every now and again I am lucky enough to stand just out of sight and listen to the wild stories they create amongst themselves and their toys. My goal is to create playthings for children that will inspire creative play (and don't hurt if they are accidentally stepped on).

At the end of the day, when it is quiet, I like to make stuff. Sometimes it's pants with big pockets for shoving treasures in, sometimes tiny houses or puppets. Whatever it is, it's made for fun!" - Allison Ewert

Winter Wonders Artisan Profile: Whim

This business started up as a way to accessorize my two sons, to provide some play toys, and to put my creative juices to work! Since then, it has blossomed into so much more - a space for me to create, to dream up new products and as well, to stretch my entrepreneurial thoughts... my product line is still evolving, and I hope to continue to grow and change as my creative process leads.

The need to create and craft are what drive my thought process in terms of what product to make... this new phase of earrings, necklaces, bobby bins & such has been so fun... I'm loving working with the fabric, and letting creative whims take me where they lead!
