My mom taught me to sew, and I grew up making things I loved. Now I sew things my little girl loves. It all started with shoes (doesn't it always?) when she was 1 month old. My shoes and boots are made with soft fabrics so as not to bind little feet as they grow and develop. 3 years later, and I still love to create things that make her smile!

Vendor Profile: Just Sewing
Natasha Just of Just Sewing began playing with fabric on her grandmother’s sewing machine when she was a little girl and still uses this vintage machine today. For over ten years she has been passionate about quilting--combining fabrics in both traditional and modern patterns. After becoming a mother, she began sewing one-of-a-kind baby blankets with colourful, inspiring fabrics. Both pre-made and custom nursery sets are available, including crib sheets, change pad covers and blankets in coordinating fabrics. Remnant fabric is used to create smaller items such as toys and bandana bibs for babies and toddlers, and lavender-scented eye pillows for mamas who need to relax. Diaper inserts for cloth diapers made from hemp/organic cotton fabric are also available. Finding creative ways to minimize unused material is one of the most challenging joys of her business. Just Sewing has recently acquired a large-scale quilting machine and both full-size and mini quilts will soon be available. Natasha is currently working on finding new ways to incorporate quilting into many of her products.

Springtime Handmade Market Vendor Profile: Salgado Fenwick
Salgado Fenwick is made up two innovative ladies from Alberta.
We make our art work and creative style into wearable garments for the free at heart.
Salgado Fenwick's quality garments are hand silkscreened with limited edition art work. Each season we set out to create an entirely new collection of 4-5 prints. Our imagery features animals, mythical creatures and nature.
We cant wait to bring you into our world of classic playful style. Rare made additions of garments are made every season.
How its made;
We prefer to silkscreen the old school way. We hand draw all our images, including separate drawings for each colour. We then hand mix colours, which produces some colour variation between shirts even within a run.

Springtime Handmade Market Vendor Profile: Daub + Design

Lexi Soukoreff started Daub + Design in 2010 as a way to explore colour, pattern, functionality and various surface design techniques. Her experience in the fashion industry and knowledge of traditional textile practices has helped shape Daub + Design’s style as it evolves to include design solutions that are respectful of the environment, and reflect the Vancouver-based textile design studio’s signature aesthetic. The hand-dyed fashions are created to be as one-of-a-kind as the brand’s West Coast clientele; one who’s as sophisticated as she is carefree, individual as she is feminine. The clothes and accessories with their seamless blend of laid-back and luxe are designed and hand-dyed because life should be full of colour, pattern, and effortless chic.

Springtime Handmade Market Vendor Profile: Who New Creations

Sewing has been an outlet for my creativity since 2004. I recycle and transform all types of fabrics into one-of-a-kind pieces of art. By appliqueing beautiful textures, patterns and colors together, I create eye candy for the kid in all of us. My most common work includes portable, doorway puppet theatres and bright, textured wall hangings. My work as Who New Creations has been seen in festivals and stores in and around Saskatchewan and Alberta and I am a Juried member of the Saskatchewan Craft Council. Inspiration is constant as I work and live in a natural environment, surrounded by my loving husband and two young boys.
