Vendor Profile: Coucou Salut
Hi! My name is Shannon Adolph, and I’m an illustrator, graphic designer and textile artist. I create a line of illustrated and hand-printed home accessories under the brand coucou salut. Originally from Saskatoon, I now live in Montreal.
I'm inspired by the world around me, and try to avoid being overly literal when I illustrate and design. This results in circles that aren’t perfectly round and squares that aren’t always square. My designs are accessible because I leave room for imagination to take over! My textiles are printed with a gender-neutral color palette, so they can always be passed down - and around - to the next little kiddos in line.
I know that parents are important too, so everything I create is carefully designed and constructed, and in keeping with my sustainable ethos, hand-pulled in small runs using water-based dyes and sustainable fabrics. I believe in supporting my community, and source everything I can from local or Canadian-based suppliers.

vendor profile: Just Sewing
Natasha Just of Just Sewing began playing with fabric on her grandmother’s vintage sewing machine when she was a little girl and still uses this machine today. For ten years she has been passionate about quilting--combining fabrics in both traditional and modern patterns. After becoming a mother, she began sewing one-of-a-kind baby blankets with colourful, inspiring fabrics. Both pre-made and custom nursery sets are available, including crib sheets, change pad covers and blankets in coordinating fabrics. Remnant fabric is used to create smaller items such as mittens, toys and bandana bibs for babies and toddlers, and lavender-scented eye pillows for mamas who need to relax. Diaper inserts for cloth diapers made from hemp/organic cotton fabric are also available. Finding creative ways to minimize unused material is one of the most challenging joys of her business. Another wonderful challenge is to continue learning new techniques. Just Sewing has recently acquired a large-scale quilting machine and Natasha is excited to discover ways to incorporate quilting into her items. Stay tuned for news at www.facebook.com/natasha.just.sewing or contact Natasha directly at natasha.just.sewing@gmail.com.

I can't help but be drawn into the magic of puppets. I love how little movements of the hand can bring life to a bit of cloth and I love how stories find their way out.
The endless possibilities for style and character keep me up late making.
Kids, baking and other fun things get me going early.

vendor profile: Erika Folnovic
As an Arts Education graduate, Erika has both a love for educating people about the wonders of art and making art that will engage the imagination of children (of all ages). From fabric bird mobiles to monster puppets to interactive children’s books, Erika’s work is both highly imaginative and incredibly cute. In fact, it’s hard to find grumpy faces at her booth. Erika is very excited to sell copies of her first major illustrative work “Jamie and the Monster Bookroom” by Manitoba author Kerry Simpson. This wonderful children’s book promotes both a love for reading and of adventure and is published by Saskatchewan publishing company DriverWorks Ink.
Erika uses a variety of new and second-hand materials for her fibre and mixed media work. For more images of and information about her work please visit her Facebook fan page or on twitter.

Springtime Handmade Market Vendor Profile: Boolah Baguette
I believe in good toys. Ones that are made with love and soft fluffy fabrics, and ones that, certainly, aren't just meant for kids. I think, no - i know, that seeing cute things can make you happier, and that polka dots, stripes, and plaid are the perfect combination. I love making house-trained little animals and button-nose little dolls and getting to put my imagination (which runs non.stop) to good use.
Come and see my selection of new dolls, children's undies, and other plush goodies. As always, thank you so very much for supporting handmade!

Springtime Handmade Market Vendor: Just Sewing
For me, walking into a fabric store is like a child in a candy shop. I find fabrics inspiring. I love to collect coordinating fabrics for quilts, pillows, blankets, etc. I believe that fabric is a powerful tool in home décor. I felt this most strongly as a nesting mama-to-be. I wanted to create the perfect nursery without being limited by what was available in stores. And that is why I started sewing baby blankets, crib sheets and change table covers. I use any remnant fabric to create smaller items such as eye pillows for mamas, baby mittens and baby toys.

Winter Wonder Artisan Profile: Wee Bobbin
Wee Bobbin is two sisters, Laura and Katie, from Saskatoon. Our interest in sewing really took off when Laura's first baby was born almost five years ago. Since then three more babies have arrived, and we've made more blankets and bibs than we can count! We now sew a variety of cute items for little people, and we hope you'll enjoy them as much as we do.
