Springtime Handmade Market Vendor Profile: Van Charles Art

From the most barren yellow plains of the prairies to the highest peaks of the rockies, Canada’s diverse landscape presents it’s brave visitors with a lasting reward; a moment in time where your breath stops and the one to follow is like your first. As an artist, I seek to immortalize this experience and foster the viewers appreciation for the natural environment. To date my body of work narrates an authentic adventure through the Canadian wilderness. Equipped with a backpack and a camera, I travel to the deepest points of the Canadian backcountry to capture images of nature that will later be digitally collaged, applied to hand crafted wooden supports and detailed with acrylic paint.

Springtime Handmade Market Vendor Profile: Made By Andi

Andi creates one of a kind handmade clutches and jewelry with a bohemian feel. Navajo prints, leather, brass, and hand stamping are all details used to create the line. It is important for Andi that each piece represents a personal experience for the customer, which is why quotes, and meaningful stones are used. "There is no reason not to follow your heart" and "Back the the Gypsy that I was" (Fleetwood Mac, anyone?) are two of her personal favourites.

She also spends her time blogging and helping other small business owners with business tips and trainings through her blog, www.madebyandi.com

Springtime Handmade Market Vendor Profile: Crystal Klassen

When winter begins to lose its icy grip and spring is imminent, who doesn't begin to dream of sun-soaked days spent on the sand, with nothing but a thin layer of spandex keeping things appropriate? In light of this, my first collection of goods, called "Beach Babes", is inspired by vintage pin-ups and mid century photos of your hot aunt. This collection is comprised of a sampling of my skills and interests, and will feature small, affordable paintings on handmade ready-to-hang wooden boxes, and driftwood-inspired bread boards for your kitchen.
