Vendor Profile: Lovely Works by Heather

I started Lovely Works by Heather to sell custom photo-realistic(ish) pencil pencil portraits after graduating from the Alberta College of Art and Design with a BFA in drawing. Due to popularity, I am now primarily making cute custom cartoon portraits-which if I am being honest is way more fun! This ink and watercolour style is now my jam and holiday cards are my next venture. You can order custom portraits through my Facebook page: Lovely Works by Heather or my etsy shop etsy.com/shop/lovelyworksbyheather.

Vendor Profile: Little Shop of ElleSee

I first opened the virtual doors of Little Shop of ElleSee in March 2011. I started out selling art prints and photography, but soon phased out the photography and brought in stationery in the form of greeting cards. In 2014 I introduced jewellery into the mix, and started making brooches by making small drawings and setting them in wooden bezels. A lot of my inspiration comes from the world of my son -- his toys, his books, and the shows that he enjoys watching on TV -- as well as nature and experiences that I have at my day job. I like to have a good time, and a good laugh, and believe that is reflected in the work that I do.

Springtime Handmade Market Vendor Profile: Little Shop of ElleSee

My name is Laura McDonald. I go by LC McDonald online as my shop name is actually a play on my initials (ElleSee) which was a nickname from my Dad while I was growing up.

I have always been drawn towards art, and started selling my photography and drawings online in a shop on Etsy in March of 2011. Several months after I began my online shop, I stopped selling my photography and started making small greeting cards and art prints.

My work is of a whimsical nature that often includes birds, penguins, cats and food stuffs like cupcakes. A lot of it is inspired by my son and his books, as well as the children that I work with at my daytime job.
