Winter Wonders Artisan Profile: Ookieookie

Ookieookie was created by Ryan Schmidt a Saskatoon based artist and graphic designer. Everything Ookieookie does has been created by Ryan; handpressed buttons, prints, original paintings and hand-folded cards. Our products are printed in-house on recycled papers, we use biodegradable vegetable based plastic to package our cards and our envelopes are a 100% recycled stock. Our products are available year-round via email request and only available at craft sales once or twice a year. In addition to our regular items we also create custom portraits and pet portraits by request.

A selection of cards are available at Unreal City in Saskatoon and a collection of pet products are available at Metro Pet Market in Regina.

Ryan studied drawing and painting at the University of Saskatchewan. His work can be found in private collections across Canada and the United States. He currently works and lives in Saskatoon with his wife, two children, a dog and a cat. When not spending time with his family he divides his time between pet portrait commissions, his own work and working as a graphic designer at Sparrowhaus, his design studio.



His products include original acrylic paintings and pet portraits, prints of original paintings and illustrations, 1¼" round handpressed buttons and cards.

Ookieookie’s pet buttons have been featured in several issues of Modern Dog Magazine and their pet portraits were featured in the Dwell.com holiday gift guide.
