Call for Vendors - Winter Wonders Handmade Market

flock and gather craft collective is currently accepting applications for the Winter Wonders Handmade Market 2017.

When and where is the market?
St. Joseph's Parish Hall, 1006 Broadway Ave., Saskatoon SK
Friday December 1 (4:30pm – 9:30pm) and Saturday December 2 (10:00am – 5:00pm)

Jury Process
The markets are juried to help ensure that there is a good mix of products and vendors, both new and returning, local and regional. We aim to keep each show unique and fresh. Each application is reviewed for craftsmanship, creativity, originality, type of craft, and product fit. For a detailed description of the jurying process please see the FAQ’s on the blog. Please note that all work must be original and handmade by the artist – kits, importers, or resellers are not acceptable.
How much will it cost me and what do I get?
8' table (8' wide by approximately 4' deep space) - $125
6' table with room for a rack (8' wide by approximately 4' deep space) - $125
4' table (4' wide by approximately 4' deep space) - $75
Kitchen space on Friday - $125
Kitchen space on Saturday - $150
Space for beverage cart (8’ wide by approximately 4’ deep space), cart to be provided by vendor - $125

The maximum height for display features (either on your table or standing) is 7’ if you are located along the outer walls, otherwise the maximum height is 5’6”. Use of the walls behind your space is not permitted. Table and chairs are provided. If you have display items that need special consideration for placement in the hall (for example: a display rack that stands behind your table), you must advise us well in advance of the show. There is no access to wifi or electricity at the tables. The hall has an abundance of windows and natural light. Lighting is not an issue in the hall. We encourage everyone who applies to consider how much space that they will need. If you can rearrange your display or  make due with less space please think about applying for a smaller table. We turn away so many amazing vendors every show. We want to ensure we get as many of you in as possible!

Artist Profile: Chelley Rae

And last but never least - since you can never have too much cuteness at a f&g market we are pleased to welcome Chelley Rae's collection to the event.

In her words:
I Grew up in a home where, creating art was important, It was how my mother made her living. We had a Ceramic/Art studio in the basement of our home. I began selling my hand crafted items about 18 years ago in a shop that my mom owned for 13 years, she has now retired........but I still felt the need to create so about 2 years ago I created ChellyRae. Over the years I have worked with many different types of materials, Ceramic, clay, floral, wood, paint........my current obsession is Felt and Fabrics! I love to create and I create what I love!
I currently live in Saskatoon with my husband and two daughters (who also love to create art)
In addition to creating art.... I also work part time as an Educational Assistant.

Artist Profile: Ricki Skoretz aka Sidecar Creations

You've probably seen the amazingness known only as sidecar creations around town lately. Most of flock and gather collective had the pleasure of meeting her at last year's CFCR Craft Sale. We can't wait to see what she has in store for the April f&g market!!

Ricki Skoretz is a crafty kitten originally hailing from Edmonton, Alberta. She moved to Saskatoon about 5 years ago. She is working hard to become an Arts and Crafts maven, and is apprenticing as an upholsterer, because the things you sit on should be beautiful. She is rarely seen without a smile, and shares her life with her fiancee Tyler and adorable dog, Neko. All of her creations are made with much love and care, and are inspired by the world around her.

Artist Profile : Jessica Wynne Designs

The members of flock and gather collective are pleased to have Jessica Wynne Designs joining us for our April 30th Market. We can't wait to see these amazing designs in person!

Bio:
I am 26 years old, married and originally from Prince Albert. I am a full-time registered massage therapist so I do a lot of work with my hands! I love to read and be outside, and have a special interest in photography as well. I have been making jewellery for as long as I can remember, and within the last year I have begun to focus on metal work. Copper is my medium of choice, and I love colourful beads and stones. I am so excited to be a part of the Flock and Gather market!

Shout Out for Market Participants

The members of the Flock & Gather are serious about handmade indie crafts. We are committed to presenting a diverse selection of finely crafted handmade items that represent what the community has to offer.

We encourage anyone who may be interested in participating in the 2011 markets to submit an application. Each applicant is reviewed for craftsmanship, creativity, originality, type of craft, and product fit. Please note that all work must be original and handmade by the artist.

Although we would love to invite all that apply to participate we are limited by the space available at the venue. If you are not chosen for the April market do not be discouraged or offended. If you have indicated on the vendor application your interest in the summer or winter markets you will still be considered for these events.
