Winter Wonders Artisan Profile: Something From Nothing

So it's finally the time, the oh so exciting time, when we finally get to share with you all the wonderful vendors that will be joining us for this years' Winter Wonders Handmade Market.

Let the countdown begin!

Something From Nothing began as a business based on circumstances, but soon transformed into one based on a lifestyle. Local artisan, Karen Boldt, has always lived a life of frugality, so it is only natural that her creative business took on this same persona. Upon entering several thrift stores in the area, she recognized an abundance of old wool sweaters and the need to find a new use for them. In 2009, she began her venture crafting these cast offs into soft and very warm mittens. These well-loved hand warmers for prairie winters soon made their debut at many trade shows in the area and because of their popularity, are now being made available to anyone with a mailing address through her Etsy shop! Something From Nothing mittens are the perfect combination of eco-friendly materials with a trendy flair. They make great gifts for your shivering friends and relatives.
