Winter Wonders Artisan Profile: Erika Folnovic
Who is Erika Folnovic? She is a graduate of the U of R (BEd in Visual Art, BA in Visual Art), a quirky prairie girl, and a lover of handmade products. Erika has shifted gears recently from jewelry to fabric arts and couldn't be happier. Erika finds her inspiration from the various secondhand materials she uses for her stuffed animals, mobiles, and embroidery hoop monsters. With fabrics from garage sales, buttons from thrift shops, among other materials, she builds highly unique and extremely cute work that is sure to put a smile on your face. She looks forward to selling her work for the second time with Flock and Gather.

Winter Wonders Artisan Profile: Coutu Kitsch
I make my jewelry in a Calgary Studio using upcycled & vintage supplies, chains, and natural gemstones. I make a wide variety of jewelry including rings, bracelets, necklaces, and hair accessories. My assortment is unique and appeals to a wide consumer base - fashionable men and women. I make many one of a kind pieces which is very appealing to a customer looking for truly unique pieces. I am inspired by random things everyday, but I am most inspired by the internet, looking through blogs and trend reports but i find i am most inspired when searching for new supplies, especially vintage supplies. I see potential these old tarnished supplies have to be turned into pieces of jewelry people could really appreciate and cherish!

Winter Wonders Artisan Profile: Juniper Moon
"I spend my days running amok with my three young children. Every now and again I am lucky enough to stand just out of sight and listen to the wild stories they create amongst themselves and their toys. My goal is to create playthings for children that will inspire creative play (and don't hurt if they are accidentally stepped on).
At the end of the day, when it is quiet, I like to make stuff. Sometimes it's pants with big pockets for shoving treasures in, sometimes tiny houses or puppets. Whatever it is, it's made for fun!" - Allison Ewert

Winter Wonders Artisan Profile: Murph mfg
I stumbled upon my passion for sewing and clothing design in an effort to make something for myself while on a holiday in New Zealand. After returning to from Vacation, my passion only grew. After a couple of years of making ill-fitting baggy sweatshirts, I decided to go to school and learn pattern drafting. My fashion school experience only made me more passionate about creating clothing. My focus now is on jeans and leather goods. Every item is handmade by myself; not for whatever sense of pride might come out of it, but to insure the highest degree of accountability. I believe putting my name on a product means I am responsible for it, so I want to be sure of the quality of what I am offering. There is a huge demand for disposable inexpensive clothing, and it is sad to see the effects of this around the world.
